Amy Tucker (she/her) is a DSocSci candidate at Royal Roads University, a Master of Arts in Human Rights and Social Justice graduate from Thompson Rivers University, and an online instructor and curriculum developer with nearly two decades of experience at Thompson Rivers University Open Learning. Her research focuses on employment precarity in higher education, organizational sociology, and the human right to rest. She is based in Kamloops, BC, on Secwépemc Territory.
Short Bio (100 words): Amy Tucker is a scholar, writer, and researcher based in Kamloops, British Columbia. A DSocSci candidate at Royal Roads University and MA graduate from Thompson Rivers University, she teaches organizational behaviour, HRM, and labour relations. Her research theorizes employment precarity, belonging, and organizational life. Her creative thesis, 30 Days by the Sea, documents a thirty-day solo retreat on the Sea of Cortez as both a healing practice and a structural critique. She writes a monthly wellness column for the Kamloops Chronicle and competes nationally as a masters athlete. She is also co-authoring The TRUE History of Open Learning in British Columbia.
